something new

well I'm talking about the fashion culture in the cities campuses, with ''first impression is the last impression'' being the mantra in all colleges, no wonder we see students more concerned about how they look & less about how they fare in academics, but who is to be blamed for this? go to any street & you'l see so many options be it causeway or Promod a stall/store is decked with beautiful clothes adorned by the maniquines so stylishly we almost want to buy it all, but in the quest of buying i all we also know that these stores have more such clothes decked up & are not custom made so you wonder what if so & so turns up wearing the same thing to so & so's party? what if your friend buys the same piece in a different colours that's the worst (sometimes the only) nightmare of a college going girl after all, impressing someone is the only thing we do in our college life (most do) so here comes the styling factor where we stand out from others & also the quest of being labeled ''the most stylish/trendy person''begins we go for different hairstyles, accessories, 1 thing that 1 immediately sees & thinks of you it could be the dark eye make up, or those piercings, Goths, the dainty girly, or the tomboy appearance, we're all stereotyped & build up that image that ''something new'' which sets us apart from others & we stand out among the crowd while some do this flawlessly, others even after trying might make a fool of themselves, so while trying to do something new don't become an ugly duckling while trying to be a swan!!

10 THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU RUN OUT OF TEEN AGE YEARS

1)- Get drunk & go wild!! (don’t we all wanna do that?)
2)- leave your inhibitions- do that thing that scares you the most, it might turn out to be your favourite thing
3)- like someone? Go talk to him/her....you might end up together forever or might find someone else but you won’t regret not asking that person out & then forever wondering.... did s/he like me, like me not?
4)-go on a trip alone before turning 20-discover yourself before you are bounded with responsibliies- enjoy your freedom
5)-make a “bucket list”- if you’ve seen the movie “The Bucket List” you’ll know what I’m talking about... if not then please do so it’s a must watch!!
6)-make up with all whom you’ve fought with, asap!! Don’t hold any grudge, you will curse yourself for it (speaking from personal experience)
7)-do something worth remembering in the future, when you’re old, sitting with your friends at your home, thinking about old times & think how crazy you were to do that... trust me it’s gonna be worth it.... but it should be something wild & crazy!!!
8)-do as much as possible in your teen years, this is the age where you are allowed to make mistakes!! PS-experiment
9)-Always read & follow my blog
10)- If you think any of this is rubbish, feel free to post a comment, & if you have your own list do share it here with other readers!!

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Ever given a thought to this? 3 simple words with a very deep & true meaning. We take life & everything around us for granted that we hardly realize life’s worth.
When we’re busy running around competing with others & time to do this, reach there, achieve this, beat him, we get lost & forget to enjoy the special gift that is life (after all only a privileged few get this opportunity of life & a select few the gift of human life)
You being able to read this or I being able to write this for you to read is in itself 1 of the things you’ve been gifted with..... & only a blind/ physically disabled person can tell you how lucky you are to be able to do it. They know life’s worth & they show respect to it unlike you & I , cos they know how it feels when you lack something!!!
We go ‘awwww’ when we see a beautiful painting of a sunset or the lake & the countryside or that beach on a canvas, have you ever stood still in your balcony to see the sun set? How beautiful it looks & that 1 minute gives such calm & peace.
Or ever looked out the train/bus/car window & seen the nature/people outside?
We go to planetariums to view the stars, but only if we would go to the terrace at night, lie down & gaze at open beautiful sky above!!!
Why do we always look for happiness in big things in life? Why not in the small li’l moments that make up our life?
“life is what happens to you, while you’re busy making other plans”.....indeed.
Then why don’t we cherish those little little moments in life?
As they say good things come in small packages.... life’s beauty is in those small & special moments which make us go “ahh!!”... those real moments in life where we share that 1 piece of cake among 5 friends or offering your seat to that old aunty in the bus(gives you inner joy). We crib about going to college atleast we don’t have to sell anything at the signal
Nobody said life would be flawless, but they promised life wiould be worth it
live life to the fullest, as they say it is not the years in your life but the life in your years that matter.
Meera a 14 year old, visually impaired girl, goes to a blind school, she loves going to school, learning something new each day, playing with her friends & teachers, also helps her mother by making beautiful handicrafts & makes meagre money..... she loves her life & says life has always been beautiful for her, cos she may not be able to see, but she can feel everything around her & she gets beautiful vibes & 1 day hopes of seeing this beautiful world with her eyes.... you can help Meera & others like her, pledge to donate your eyes today, all you will get is blessings & you will make others lives beautiful.....log on www.ebai.org or mail at ebai@vsnl.net & tell them you are interested in pledging for eye donation in 14 days you’ll get the pledge form, please help Meera & her friends , give them a chance to see how beautiful life is.... I did... hope u do too!!! Alos if you get time go & visit a blind school & see hoe talented these people are & a lil help from us will make their lives truly beautiful!!!

GOODBYES

All my bags are packed I'm ready to go
I'm standin' here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin' it's early morn
The taxi's waitin' he's blowin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go................................
At some point in life, we’ve all had to bid goodbyes to those special ones, who we never want to lose, yet destiny is such, we always lose those near & dear ones, in my case I’ve always been unlucky & so maybe I’m the best in bidding goodbyes, I’ve become strong, but yet no matter how many ever times you bid goodbye, you always feel vulnerable the next time when you bid goodbye to that special someone.
Today in our times, it is easier for us to keep in touch with those who we lost years ago, because of mails, skype, facebook & what not?
But it wasn’t the case in previous times, when lovers had to bid goodbyes cause they fought wars, or parents whose children went abroad & never came back........ well my 1st goodbye was when i was 8 & my bestie left me though I reconnected with her thanks to facebook...... but i still miss her.... since then I’ve bid goodbyes to many closed ones............. the one thing that I’ve learnt from this is it’s not easy bidding goodbye to anyone & sometimes nothing is in your hands you have to move on in life & well consider yourself lucky if you havn’t bid goodbyes to your closed ones.

LOST GIRL

dedicated to all those who have been through this phase or will go through it once in thier teen life (guaranteed)

so as i begin with this article, the LOST GIRL- who is lost in herself, not knowing where she stands, even though surrounded by people, yet being lonely, alone in her thoughts, imaginations running wild.
being just out of junior college, having enjoyed her holidays with friends & family, yet being lost in deep thoughts, pressure to persue the career of her dreams, being resticted by parents to do so...... this lost girl who lives in this big city of dreams is going through a roller coster in order to achieve those dreams,
this los girl is wondering, how would it feel like if she had 1 day into her future. Is she gonna be lost forever in her life?
wondering & being lost in thinking, where will she & her friends stand with her in the future?
lost thinking who is she? who are her real friends? why is she here, what is she doing here? will she be able to make it big, be remembered & recognised?
lost in those random dreams & thoughts running all across her mind, whilst crossing at the peak hours on the cross roads (of her life too) met with an accident & is lost forever from this world,
Though she will remain in the hearts of her loved ones & found in the newspapers of tomorrow & lost after that.
PS- is life really like this? no matter how good/bad, popular/unpopular, are we also like the lost girl? LOST?
        think about it!!!
                                                                                                                                    XOXO
